OUR HISTORY


1967

The Nairobi Synod started way back on 9th January 1967. The synod is made up of nine circuits of which two are mission circuits in Uganda and Tanzania.Geographically the synod covers the following provinces of Kenya: Nairobi, Rift Valley, Central and Eastern.

2016

The Nairobi Synod  is under the leadership of Bishop Rev. Paul Matumbi and it has  ten circuits: Charles New, Kariokor, Langata, Komarock, Lavington, Kawangware, Nakuru, Ilimukutani, Isinya, Uganda Mission Area and DR Congo.

To preach the good News, set at liberty the afflicted and equip believers.

Rev Joseph Ntombura

Presiding Bishop Methodist Church In Kenya

Rev. Joseph Ntombura Mwaine is the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church in Kenya. He was elected as the 6th Presiding Bishop by the Annual conference of the Methodist Church in Kenya held in August 2012.
Rev. Ntombura has a vision of inspiring the Methodist Church into becoming a mission oriented Church. According to him, mission & evangelism are central to Church growth.
